European Leaders Condemn US Move as ‘Coercion’
European leaders such as the French president charged Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, following the travel bans were placed on individuals who have been central to efforts to introduce laws governing US-based technology firms.
“For far too long, European activists have led organised efforts to coerce American platforms to punish US perspectives they disagree with,” stated the US secretary of state in a social media post. “The current administration will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
